Verpets Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your use of our website and services ("Verpets" or "Service"). By accessing or using Verpets, you agree to comply with and be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to all the terms, do not use Verpets. Verpets is not responsible for, and assumes no liability arising from, any use of your account that occurs without your permission.

1. Age Requirements

Verpets is offered only to users who meet the minimum legal age required to provide their own consent to the collection and processing of personal data. This means you must be at least 13 years old in the United States, and between 13 and 16 years old in the European Union, depending on your country of residence. Accounts found to be operated by users under the required minimum age may be suspended or permanently terminated without notice. By accessing or using Verpets, you confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement and any other eligibility criteria for the Service.

2. Account

Each user may register and maintain only one account. Creating, owning, or using multiple accounts, whether directly or indirectly, is strictly prohibited. Accounts are for individual use only and may not be shared, sold, traded, transferred, or accessed by anyone other than the original account holder. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and must keep your credentials secure. Notify Verpets immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Verpets will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this section. Verpets reserves the right to suspend or terminate any accounts found to be in violation of this policy, including all related accounts, without prior notice.

3. User Content and Appropriateness

Verpets is designed and tailored primarily for users aged 16 and older. While the platform may be accessed by users aged 13–15 where permitted by local law, participation by younger users is subject to additional care, moderation, and legal requirements related to privacy and data protection.

The minimum age required to create an account and agree to Verpets’ Privacy Policy may vary depending on the user’s country of residence and the applicable laws governing consent to the collection and processing of personal data. Users must meet the minimum age required by their local laws in order to use Verpets.

All content must be appropriate for this age range. Content that is not suitable for users under the applicable minimum age may be removed, restricted, or moderated at the discretion of Verpets staff. This includes, but is not limited to, forum posts, usernames, pet names, background images, shopkeeper images, shopkeeper names, and any other user submissions.

If we discover that an account was created by someone under the age of 13, or by someone who does not meet the minimum age required in their country to consent to data collection, the account may be suspended or removed in order to comply with applicable privacy and child protection laws. Repeated violations of these rules may result in permanent account termination.

Users may only upload content that they own or have permission to use. The final determination of content appropriateness and policy compliance is at the sole discretion of Verpets staff.

4. Conduct & Prohibited Behavior

By using Verpets, you are responsible for all activity associated with your account and all content you contribute to the site. Users must not:

• Use bots, scripts, automated tools, or third-party software to gain an unfair advantage, automate gameplay, or disrupt site functions or stability.
• Attempt to gain items, pets, currency, or points through methods not approved by Verpets.
• Exploit glitches, bugs, loopholes, or unintended behaviors. Users who discover a bug should report it immediately rather than using it for personal gain.
• Lend, sell, or trade virtual pets, items, or currency outside of approved site mechanisms for real money, virtual currency from other sites, or other goods, except for approved member services such as custom art, writing, or profile layouts.
• Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful behavior affecting other users or the community.
• Create multiple accounts or share accounts with others.
• Use Verpets for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Post, transmit, or distribute offensive, abusive, harmful, sexually explicit, defamatory, invasive of privacy, or objectionable content. Hate speech and pornography are prohibited.
• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users.
• Impersonate any person or entity, including Verpets staff members.
• Collect or store personal data about other users without their consent.
• Send unsolicited advertisements, promotions, chain letters, or commercial messages.
• Disrupt forums, chatrooms, or community spaces with spam, abuse, or irrelevant content.
• Misuse reporting tools, make false claims, or attempt to manipulate staff or systems.
• Attempt unauthorized access to Verpets systems, accounts, or networks.
• Intentionally overload servers or otherwise disrupt site stability.
• Promote competing services inappropriately; discussions about competitors must be respectful and in proper forums.
• Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Upload or submit content you do not own or have permission to use.

5. Virtual Assets & Real Money Trading

Pets, items, currency, accounts, and other virtual assets are for use within Verpets only and have no real-world monetary value. Buying, selling, trading, or exchanging Verpets virtual assets for real money, cryptocurrency, goods, services, or currency from other websites is strictly prohibited. Exceptions exist for member-to-member services, such as custom pet art, profile layouts, or writing, which may be exchanged for real money. These transactions are not endorsed or supported by Verpets. Unauthorized real money or external currency transactions may result in suspension or permanent termination of accounts.

6. Virtual Currency Purchases

Verpets allows players to purchase Virtual Currency. Refunds are handled as follows:

• All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as described below.
• Players may request a refund within five (5) days of purchase, provided that the Virtual Currency has not been spent on pets, items, or other in-game content. Refunds are at Verpets’ discretion.
• Purchases are for use within Verpets only and do not grant ownership or property rights.
• Accounts attempting chargebacks or disputes outside the refund policy may be suspended or terminated.

7. Use of Verpets Content

All content on Verpets, including pets, items, artwork, graphics, text, designs, and site features, is the property of Verpets or its licensors. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use content for personal, non-commercial enjoyment on Verpets.

You may not:

• Reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit Verpets content without written permission.
• Use Verpets content for commercial purposes or in ways that could harm Verpets’ reputation or interests.
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
• Use automated means, such as bots or scrapers, to access or collect Verpets content without authorization.

8. AI Policy

Verpets promotes user creativity. As a result, any content that is generated by artificial intelligence may be removed without notice. Repeated violations of this policy may result in account suspension or termination.

9. Limitations of Liability

Verpets and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from your use of, or inability to access or use, Verpets or its services. This includes, but is not limited to, losses from downtime, errors, bugs, or interruptions. Users acknowledge that periodic maintenance and technical issues may occur, and that such interruptions are a normal part of providing the service.

10. Updates to Terms

Verpets may update or revise these Terms of Use at any time, without prior notice. Updates may be announced in the news section or otherwise posted on the website. By continuing to use Verpets after changes are made, you agree to be bound by the current version of these Terms. Dates of major changes may be noted for convenience, but users should refer to the “Effective Date” at the top of this page for the most accurate version of the Terms.
